The Down Low
This article does a great job of describing DeWanna's journey through the league, from nervous rookie, to sixth woman of the year, to a champion and an all-star. Throughout her career, she's always been a dangerously good scorer—even in her worst season she put up more than 10 points per game.
She took one break, when she sat out the 2017 season due to her pregnancy. That time away taught her how much she loves the game, despite the difficulty of balancing her time between practice and parenting. She now has twin daughters, Cali and Demi, whom she co-parents with ex-wife and former teammate Candice Dupree. Candice is not her only family in the league, her sister Erica McCall plays for the Mystics!
Also, as I've maintained throughout this database, I don't like to gossip, but Dee clearly has an all stars only policy. And I love that for her. She is currently dating all-star and teammate Alyssa Thomas. Here's them combining for 47 points.
Notable Quotables
A great quote from her former coach Bridget Pettis:
That’s the one thing that’s very, very attractive about DeWanna Bonner. Her energy is just adorable. You want to be around it.
