Robocoko's Revenge Game* Tracker
“When someone is mean to me, I just make them a victim in my next book.” ― Mary Higgins Clark
July
Washington Mystics @ New York Liberty | July 3 | 1 PM ET
Tina Charles takes on her former team.
As Tina described after dropping 34 points on her former team: "I got fired on my day off, so yeah, there was juice.” Let's see if she can do it again.
The Mystics and Liberty meet again on September 17 at 7 PM ET
New York Liberty @ Indiana Fever | July 9 | 7 PM ET
Betnijah Laney takes on her former team.
I'm not sure if this even counts as a revenge game anymore because it is so comical that any WNBA team would cut 2020's Most Improved Player and certified bucket Betnijah Laney. But yes, the Indiana Fever did that ahead of the 2020 season.
Atlanta Dream @ Connecticut Sun | July 9 | 7 PM ET
Courtney Williams returns to Connecticut
Courtney Williams was less than pleased by the way she was treated when the Sun traded her to the Atlanta Dream ahead of the 2020 season. While she has faced the Sun since then, this will be her first time back in Mohegan Sun Arena.
The Dream and Sun meet again on September 19 at 1 PM ET
Minnesota Lynx @ Los Angeles Sparks | July 11 | 9 PM ET
Don't Tread on Phee
The Lynx Sparks rivalry goes way back. Most recently, things got chippy between the Lynx's Napheesa Collier and the Spark's Amanda Zahui B., prompting Phee to assert "Don't f*cking push me." There's a T-Shirt.
The Lynx and Sparks meet again on September 2 at 8 PM ET
August
Seattle Storm @ Chicago Sky | August 15 | 4 PM ET
Mama Lou revenge game.
When Katie Lou Samuelson was traded by the Chicago Sky, her mom took to Twitter to express her dissatisfaction with the leadership of James Wade. While Katie Lou has faced her former team before, this will be her first return to Wintrust Arena since the trade.
The Storm and Sky meet again on August 27 at 10pm and August 29 at 6pm
Washington Mystics @ Las Vegas Aces | August 15 | 6 PM ET
Milk or champagne?
The 2019 playoffs between the Aces and Mystics got heated, particularly due to Liz Cambage's epic trash-talking. Cambage commented that LaToya Sanders (then the Mystics' Center, now an Assistant Coach) "needed milk," the team responded: "Who needs milk when you got champagne?" There is a T-shirt.
The Mystics and Aces meet again on August 17 at 10 PM ET
New York Liberty @ Minnesota Lynx | August 15 | 7 PM ET
Layshia Clarendon takes on their former team.
We all absolutely hated it when the New York Liberty cut Layshia Clarendon just a few games into the season. Fortunately, he was immediately picked up by the Minnesota Lynx and moved into the starting lineup where he has absolutely shone.
The Lynx and Liberty meet again on August 31 at 8 PM ET
Indiana Fever @ Los Angeles Sparks | August 15 | 10 PM ET
Lauren Cox takes on her former team.
In a move described by me as "brutal" and "nonsensical," the Indiana Fever waived 2020's #3 pick Lauren Cox in the middle of the 2021 season. Cox was immediately signed to the Sparks.
The Sparks and Fever meet again on August 31 at 7 PM ET
Atlanta Dream @ Los Angeles Sparks | August 17 | 10:30 PM ET
Crystal Bradford returns to the team that drafted her.
Crystal Bradford rightfully has a bone to pick with the entire league, given that she was out of the league for five seasons before being finally picked up by the Dream. She has made every team look foolish this season, but none more so than the Sparks, the team that drafted her #7 in 2015 and then immediately dropped her after injury.
The Dream and Sparks meet again on August 19 at 10:30 PM and September 16 at 7PM
Chicago Sky @ Atlanta Dream | August 24 | 7 PM ET
Cheyenne Parker takes on her former team.
When the Chicago Sky got Candace Parker in free agency ahead of 2021, it meant their current Parker had to go. Cheyenne landed in Atlanta. Is there a little extra fuel to beat Chicago? We'll see when she plays them again for the first time.
Los Angeles Sparks @ Washington Mystics | August 24 | 7 PM ET
Garlic Salt & Sazón reunite.
In a move that devastated me, personally, the Sparks waived Sydney Wiese just before the 2021 season, breaking up Garlic Salt & Sazón, objectively one of the WNBA's best duos. Wiese has already faced Sykes and her former team this season, and it is still all love for them (but I hope she beats the Sparks).
Phoenix Mercury @ New York Liberty | August 25 | 7 PM ET
Twitter beef to be settled on the court.
#WNBATwitter was overtaken by drama one fateful Monday night when the Liberty's Jazmine Jones began commenting on highlight plays of Phoenix's Skylar Diggins-Smith juking DiDi Richards to remind her that the Liberty still got the Dub. SDS told her to shut up. Some celebrated Jazmine Jones being petty on behalf of her teammate. Others noted Skylar had a point. And Sydney Colson tweeted through it.
The Mercury and Liberty meet again two days later on August 27 at 7pm
September
Chicago Sky @ Las Vegas Aces | September 2 | 10 PM ET
Three games in a row of the best WNBA rivalry.
Sky-Aces has been declared the best active WNBA rivalry. I think it's still the Chicago Sky out for revenge though, with the Aces ending their 2020 playoff run with the "foolishly heroic" Hamby Heave. Liz Cambage also once called Stefanie Dolson a fatass.
The Sky and Aces meet again on September 5 at 3pm and September 17 at 8pm
League @ Dallas Wings | Season-Long
I choose to blame it all on Wings General Manager Greg Bibb.
The following players may have some extra juice against the Wings:
- Liz Cambage (Las Vegas Aces): Demanded to be traded
- Skylar Diggins-Smith (Phoenix Mercury): Demanded to be traded.
- Aerial Powers (Minnesota Lynx): Thanked the Wings for trading her.
- Astou Ndour-Fall (Chicago Sky): Benched by the Wings for most of 2020; Greg mispronounced her name about 20 times on a podcast and I have not forgotten.
- Dana Evans (Chicago Sky): Traded for almost no assets.
- Karlie Samuelson (Los Angeles Sparks): Waived.
- Megan Gustafsen (Washington Mystics): Waived.
- Dallas Wings' Bigs (Dallas Wings): The Wings announced that for every block this season they would be donating to the Arlington Police Fund. All records have since been deleted, but we remember.

Official Caveat
I have no idea if any of these players care about these games for these reasons but I personally choose to.
