The Down Low
Kia is a Canadian hero (she is one of just four active WNBA players from Canada.) And she's earned that title: Kia has set herself apart in the league with her speed, athleticism, and shooting. Although she plays in the WNBA, her connection to her home county is strong, serving as a basketball analyst for TSN, running the Kia Nurse Basketball Academy in Toronto, and representing Canada in the Olympics.
That's not to say she hasn't reached heroic status in the U.S. She is one of a select group of athletes representing the Jordan Brand—along with teammate Asia Durr, only the second and third WNBA athletes to represent the brand. That sponsorship went so well they signed six more WNBA athletes the next year.
When she's not building her legacy, she's building friendships. She's got a cute friendship with college teammate Gabby Williams, a cute friendship with former coach and WNBA legend Teresa Weatherspoon, and a cutely weird friendship with former teammates Kiah Stokes and Amanda Zahui B.
Finally, I was going to just give some tidbits from this interview but honestly every answer is perfect, so just watch the whole thing:
