The Down Low
Kysre took the 2021 WNBA draft by storm when she was drafted fourth, after not being predicted to be selected until the second or third round. ESPN did not even have her live to get her reaction, which we instead saw the next day when it was posted on social media. In it, you can watch her and her mom absolutely losing it with excitement.
It was fitting that her mom was beside her for this moment. Kysre's mom Lisa was a college basketball star, winning a national title in college in the pre-WNBA days and then playing professionally overseas. Lisa coached Kysre and her sister Kalabrya in high school. Her coaching clearly paid off, as Kysre is now a shooter who is a threat to score from anywhere on the court.
Notable Quotables
